Projects

Here is a non-exhaustive list of some of my recent and favourite work:

Stone & Wood - Partnership with Regenerative Farmers

In late 2019, as the then Sustainability & Impact Leader at Stone & Wood Brewing Co, I established a partnership with a cooperative group of farmers trying to implement regenerative farming standards in Australia. A key need for them was for industry to drive the transition. Seeing a brewery as a perfect customer and ambassador for this, the project grew and ultimately led to Stone & Wood committing to increase its use of regeneratively grown ingredients going forward, being the first brewer to do so in this part of the world.

To help lead the industry transition, we identified the need to tell the story of why this shift is important. So, I fostered a partnership with Sure Studios to film a documentary about it called: ‘RE_GENERATION’

Renew Fest and The Resilience & Regeneration Roadshow

Throughout 2021, I partnered with Renew Fest to help curate and host live interviews with headline speakers about full system regenerative change. Starting with 5 community workshops in Byron Bay, Brunswick Heads, Bangalow, Ballina, and Federal; I then hosted the 3 headline interviews at Renew Fest in May. All of these were recorded live and published as podcast episodes. I continue to support the Renew Fest team and their other community projects as a Director of their governing not-for-profit, HHUG.

Establishing and Driving The InGrained Foundation

Originally one of the founding Directors and later the Executive Officer, I helped to establish and lead the inGrained Foundation, which is a not-for-profit that donates to and invests in organisations creating social and environmental change.

I have driven the majority of the Foundation’s activities including setting its strategy and direction, implementing community grants programs in the Northern Rivers and Brisbane, building relationships with partner organisations, developing an impact investment strategy, administering over $1M of donations over 4 years, providing emergency funding to critical community organisations during the bushfire and flood crises, and being the main spokesperson and advocate for the Foundation’s activities publicly. I continue to sit on the Board of the Foundation as a Director.

B-Corp Consulting

Throughout 2021, I underwent training to became a certified B-Corp Consultant.

Since then and starting my own business, I have worked with dozens of organisations to help them navigate the process and, more importantly, improve their business practices.

I have worked with a wide variety of businesses from industries including ethical fashion, surfing and eyewear, local catering, health food distribution, woodworking tools, compostable packaging, digital tech, wine, and more.

Engineering a Wastewater Treatment and Water Recycling System

Back in 2016, I put my engineering skills to use to scope, design, install, and later expand a large wastewater treatment system with a water recycling component.

This system was required to reduce the load of a large facility’s wastewater in a small regional town, and needed to be adaptable to meet the demands of a rapidly growing business.

Going far above and beyond simply meeting compliance limits, I designed this system to also treat a portion of wastewater through a reverse osmosis process, leading to massive water savings by recycling water through various processes within the brewery.
